Welcome to the New Paltz Regatta
Spectator Information Page
The 2008 Regatta will take place on Sunday June 8.
The launch site is at Sojourner Truth Park on Plains Road approx 0.5 miles south of Main Street.
A Parade of the Homemade Crafts will begin at 1:30 PM from the
New Paltz Village Hall.
The most important advice to spectators is to arrive early!
Lower Main Street will be closed during the parade. The roadway on the Main Street
bridge over the Wallkill will be open to only one lane of traffic from
approx. 1:30 until 3:00 PM.

Viewing the Parade
The parade starts at 1:30 PM from the Village Hall on Platekill Avenue.
From there it procedes to Main Street and then turns west.
At Water Street the parade turns south and continues to the launch site.
Viewing the Races
The canoe and kayak races will begin at 2:00 PM.
The Homemade Craft races will begin as soon as they are able to be launched.
Probably around 2:45.
Spectators can view the races from the Wallkill River bridge or from several
access places along the rail trail next to the river.
